Yes, I do still have a Hotmail account. (So do 399,999,999 other people. And not ALL of them are old fogies, either.) And it's usually the first thing I check on the computer in the morning. And this AM, after emptying the spam folder, I logged out and the MSN News page came up with this headline:
Well, I was shocked, too, and I immediately went to read the story...but there was no story, just the headline and this bit:
Sen. David Perdue R-Ga. joins 'The Next Revolution' to discuss the audio released by the Washington Post and provides insight into the Georgia Senate race
So I played the video. And heard David Perdue talk about how it was shocking that a fellow G.O.P. person would tape The President, and disgusting that this tape was leaked.
Ah...there's the David Perdue that I know and loathe.
And that's fine, we don't expect a leopard, no matter how desiccated and enervated, to change his / her / their spots. But as for this MSN...this so-called MSN News....
Well, to say that their "summary" is deceptive is a gross understatement. It clearly aims to make you think that Perdue has broken with Trump...and this just a day before the Georgia Runoff Election. And since anyone who is (1) a Democrat or (2) not an idiot has already decided that Perdue is a corrupt politician who will do ANYthing his Dear Leader implies he should do, it's only meant to pull them in...as it did me...thinking that "My God! The desiccated, enervated leopard has changed his spots!"...which will result in a brief moment of disgust at the deception...or it is aimed at Perdue supporters, perhaps hoping to turn them away from voting for DP if they don't have the wherewithal to locate and click on the PLAY button for the video and listen to at least the first twenty or thirty seconds of it.
And that's just bullshit. I loathe Perdue, I hope that he loses the election...I PRAY that he loses the election...but lying and cheating to help that happen? That is (1) just wrong and (2) a good way to provide fuel for the already raging fire of "Conservative" ire.
Here's the thing, though: it obviously works. Check out the list of the Top Five Trending Stories on MSN "News":
And attributing the "summary" of the story to FOX News is just the cherry on top, isn't it?
Fighting fire with fire is only a good idea if your intention is to burn down the house. And News Flash: we live in that house.
Come on, people now....
