And then some Miles Davis books:






Kind of wanted to read the Miles Davis autobiography after this, but was afraid to take it on, since I already know things about Miles that I wish I didn't know...and which, I'm sorry to say, erode my love for his music, even though that probably should be in another category.
Went for this instead:


And then I thought it was Horse's Mouth time.
So I decided to take the plunge. Deep breath. I have the feeling that this is going to be rough. 




And it was rough. So rough that I put it down at page 229 for violence against women, racism, and unrelenting assholiness. And I switched to a little Coltrane.








Which proved to be so satisfying that I thought I'd have some more.




And the last 100 pages of that book irritated me
so much that I thought about ending my Jazz Readings there, but I already had 



in hand...and the lure of Ralph Ellison was too much for me to resist, so I went there.
