"I Loved a Girl"

I just got back from visiting my #1son in Rutland, Vermont. While I was there he laid down some fiddle on a song I'd written. Check it out here:

In Praise of O(N)AN

I was doing my early morning news check whilst drinking my coffee: CNN, MSNBC, and (Bring On) The Foxes . . . and a quick look at the local channels as well     . . . and it was non-stop Irma. Which seems like exploitation pure and simple to me. Updates, sure. But rubber necking? No thank you. And then I dialed up O(N)AN.

They were reporting on North Korea, and then went on to do a story on 9/11.

And it reminded me of why I like this channel:

(1) They don't just beat one story into the ground.
(2) They do little history lessons at the commercial breaks.
(3) Most of the anchors are hot women.

Who could ask for anything more?

Make Mine O(N)AN!

Just bought The Nation's 150th issue for a buck at Goodwill and saw this as I was browsing:

"It is astonishing how much money can be made out of the poorest of the poor with a little ingenuity."

Love, Sleep, God & The Universe

Why is it that when you are most desperately in need of them, love & sleep are not to be found, but when you have given up hope of them they come to your door without a qualm?

You'd think the universe would've been designed much better than that.
