When you-know-who shot at you-know-who and the screen went black I thought it was the end of the episode, and man, I was pissed. I was mos definitely at the I Will Never Fall For Your Bullshit Again! stage until I realized there was more show.
And that more . . . woah. Some powerful shit. The show has lost about seven million viewers between this season's premiere and now (according to our friends at Wikipedia), and I suspect it's because a lot of people felt the same way that I did about that premiere; we can take a fair amount of grit, but when mere anarchy (and nihilism) is loosed upon our world, we find another world.
But this show was quite different. One of the best ever, actually. So if you've given up on The Walking Dead, I definitely understand. They fucked up big time. But I am beginning to think that they have found their way again, and you might want to give this episode a shot. There are a few disgusting moments, of course . . . and I could do without them, for sure . . . but I think they've got their mojo back. This was a show about courage and strength and perseverance. Like in the old days.
