Case in Point: Why You Should Buy Music From /bandcamp Instead of Amazon (Plus Leon Bridges Discography)

I recently happened upon and subsequently fell in love with Leon Bridges. More on that later. Maybe. At any rate, after purchasing the vinyl version of Gold-Diggers Sound, I went to see what else he'd released.

Turns out there were 3 full albums

Coming Home (2015)
Good Thing (2018)
Gold-Diggers Sound (2021)

two eps

Louisiana Sun (2016)
Texas Sun (2020)

& 18 singles
4 from Coming Home
4 from Good Thing
2 from Texas Sun
2 from Gold-Diggers Sound

...and then 5 non-album singles

"Liberated" (2018)
"That Was Yesterday" (2019)
"Inside Friend" (2020)
"All About You" (2020)
"Like a Ship" (2021)

and

a single from The End of Everything ep by Noah Cyrus, "July" (2019)

And (among other things) I wondered, "I wonder how much that Texas Sun ep goes for? So I took a look at Amazon.

And? $4.99 for MP3, $8.39 for CD, $16.98 for vinyl.

Then I hopped over to /bandcamp.

And? $4 for MP3 *, $8.99 for CD, and $14.99 for vinyl.

Now, you are going to have to add in some bucks for shipping, & maybe for tax, too, so the CD and vinyl prices via /bandcamp might end up being a little higher, but still...it's in the same ballpark.

And check out this message that appeared on the /bandcamp web page:

And in addition to that, /bandcamp also lets you stream the complete album (or ep, or single)...more than once...before you have to decide whether or not you want to buy it.

Which is why you should give them a try. I've been buying music from them for years now, and I have had nothing but satisfaction. Also discovered some extremely cool bands that I probably would never have heard of otherwise.

MAKE MINE /BANDCAMP!
