New Old Beatles Album!

Both of those pictures are AI-ed, but they turned out so well that I had to lead off with them. Here are the real pictures:

I've gotta say, I have as much fear and loathing of AI as the next guy, but I like what it did here.

Speaking of HERE, I was initially hesitant to pick up this bit of vinyl, even though the price ($14.99*) was quite all right, but when I flipped it over to check out the track listing and saw

...well.

Alternate studio takes of some of those great early songs? Not to mention a studio version of "One After 909"? Live versions of songs the Beatles never recorded (so far as we know)? One of which is a Lennon / McCartney that never made it to the studio (so far as we know)? Yep, I was in.

I've just finished my first listen and I was amazed how good the sound quality was. I'm betting that some AI was used to enhance the live sound...in terms of stripping out crowd noise, for instance. (Remember how awful The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl album sounded? If course you don't...you weren't even BORN then. Sheesh. 👴)

ANYway...it was fun to listen to the alternate takes, wherein there are just slight differences in the sound. And the live stuff sounded great.  So far as I know there is no CD version of this album, so if you see it on vinyl grab it...and maybe a record player too

* Amazon lists two copies available,  the cheaper of which is 26.88 + $55.54 shipping.

ADDENDUM: I took a look around to see if I could find this for sale anywhere else, but other than the two copies previously referred to on Amazon, there was nothing. Odd. There was a listing on Discogs...however it included this exhortation:

This release is blocked from sale on Discogs. It is not permitted to sell this item in our Marketplace.Sooooo...that's not good. I guess it's a bootleg. Sorry, Beatles.

(I'm still keeping it, though.)
