He seems like a stand-up guy. I mean, I didn't vote for him for President, of course . . . but I wouldn't mind if he were President right now. (Which is not saying much, as I wouldn't mind if Scooby Doo were President now instead of our current Cheeto-in Chief. And remember, I don't do hyperbole.) But I have some affection for John McCain, and I have never had any doubt that he was sincere and had good intentions, even if his intentions didn't match my concept of The Good most of the time.
I certainly wish him no harm . . . and I certainly do wish him well.
But when I heard that he had undergone surgery for a blood clot, my second thought (the first being, "I hope he's okay") was, "Gee, I wonder if he had any trouble making his co-pay."
You know?
And while it is certainly appropriate for Senator Bitch McConnell to delay the Health Care Bill vote, it's pretty fuckin' ironic, too, isn't it?
I mean . . . if we're going to insist on having an American Aristocracy, could we just be up front about it and stop pretending that we don't go for that shit? Go old school. Get Medieval on it.
As Alexis de Tocqueville told us a century and a half ago, this new aristocracy is much more dangerous than the old school ones, which at least had some notion of duty to its peasantry. And at least knew the difference between peasants and cattle.
Just sayin', sir.
