Just found out that originally they wanted Sean Connery to do the part of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. According to Celebrity Net Worth, they made him a pretty amazing offer: "In addition to a $10 million per film salary, they offered Connery 15% of the box office for all three movies." Which would have meant .15 x $2.9 billion = $435,000,000. And imagine if he'd gotten the same deal to be Seandolf in The Hobbit Trilogy, which did the same $2.9 billion at the box office. $870 million. That will buy you a whole lot of whatever.
