Just saw a clip on the CBS Evening News, and was so astounded that I went to The New York Times for confirmation. And there it was:
Under the title "'Trump Is Wrong,’ Pence Says of False Claim About Overturning Election" (by Lisa Lerer...which you can read here: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/04/us/politics/pence-trump-election.html), Pence not only said
“President Trump is wrong.... “I had no right to overturn the election.”
But also said
“The truth is there’s more at stake than our party or our political fortunes.... If we lose faith in the Constitution, we won’t just lose elections — we’ll lose our country.”
Never thought I'd say this...and probably never will again...but for now, I have to:
Go Mike Pence!
