ATB

Today in NUTRiBULLET News . . .

or

This Morning's Smoothie *

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

29 grams of Nutty Nuggets cereal 105c (for the fiber, but I also like the taste of this stuff)
protein powder 100c
103 grams of banana 92c
204 grams of apple (everything except the stem and core) 106c
and some water (to the fill line)

Calorie total: 403
Protein total: 3 + 24 + 1.1 + .6 = 34.1 grams (about 50% of MDR)
Fiber total: 3.5 + 0 + 2.7 + 4.9 = 11.1 grams (about 29% of MDR)

This mixture also yields 307 grams of fruit and vegetable, which = about 38% of MMDR (My MDR, which is considerably higher than that suggested by the gummint . . . but based on The Save Your Life Diet by David R. Reuben makes sense to me . . . and I'm pretty sure that eating "too much" fruit and vegetable matter is not a bad thing unless you're trapped on an island with a bunch of psychotic adolescent boys.)

So on the one hand . . . that's a lot of calories for breakfast. On the other hand . . . a big infusion of fiber and protein at the top of the day, which seems like a good idea to me. Just have to see how it goes with my body.

And the taste? Oh, yeah, quite, quite nice. I don't know why, but this has a very light taste. From previous experiments, I thought that the lightness was coming from yogurt, but I didn't have any this morning, and it still came out just fuckin' fluffy. Maybe it's the banana? Also, this is sweet, but not in a too sweet way. And it is just a nice, beige color, not anything gross like you see on the teevee.

Good shit.

This was my 6th consecutive NUTRiBULLET / ATB Day, and I'm superdedooper pleased with it all. The only complaint I have is that even though my belly feels pretty full now, before lunch time hits I know I'll be wanting something to eat, and the relatively high calorie count on this really precludes that. I should have only had half of it for breakfast and paired it up with an egg and toast, then had the rest of it with lunch.

Live and learn.

* I really hate the term "smoothie." I think I will start calling it A Thick Beverage (see Wikipedia), or maybe just ATB for short. Yeah, that's much better.
