The Bandit of Hell's Bend by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Okay, I know that I should just give up on trying to relate these coincidence things. Nobody is ever impressed by them, and, in fact, the usual reaction is, "That's not really very strange at all." Which baffles me. Maybe I'm just not relaying the information properly.

But never being one to learn from experience, I'll have another go at it.

Yesterday I wrote about buying 19 / 24 Edgar Rice Burroughs books in an attempt to (almost) complete my ERB collection. One of the books that I purchased--in an omnibus of ERB westerns--was The Bandit of Hell's Bend

Just to be clear . . . I've never seen a copy of this book before. In fact, I've seen very few ERB books, and most of the ones I've seen have been Tarzan books.

And I don't go to Goodwill all that often, but when I do I look at the books, and I've never see any ERB books there.

Until today.

And get this: it wasn't even on the shelves with the other books. It was on one of the dozen or so shelves in the back of the store which are primarily covered with knick knacks.

And get this: there was no reason for me to go back there. I had gone through the book shelves very carefully, and I was ready to leave. The only reason I went back was because whilst looking through the books a guy mentioned to me that he had seen a set of vhs tapes that he wanted a minute ago, but that it was gone now--and I had found it on a shelf and was going to tell him about it if he hadn't yet left the store.

So . . . well, that's it, I guess. That's pretty weird, though, right?
