Robinson Crusoe is following me.
Yesterday I had breakfast with my friend Jim. During the course of our conversation he mentioned that he had just finished reading Robinson Crusoe, and that he had really enjoyed it. He said something along the lines of, "I was right there on that island." And I immediately thought, "I should probably read that book." Or possibly re-read it, as I might have read it previously . . . there's a little tickle in my wicket on that. But if I did, it was long, long ago.
Today I was pinch-hitting for Jacqueline's Community Living Supports person, and after our volunteer gig at Hosparus and our standard trip to Tonini's to look at Catholic paraphernalia, she asked to go to Half-Price Books. I'd just been to the Hurstbourne one, so I headed for the Westport Road store. And whilst traipsing around randomly, I saw
As you can probably tell, none of these are from the authors alphabetically arranged sections. In fact, the first three pictures (4 Robinsons) are from budget sections, which are just haphazard things. The last one is even more peculiar, in a way, in that someone just happened to decide to highlight Robinson Crusoe.
Coincidence . . . or something else?
I don't know, but I'm thinking that I should probably read Robinson Crusoe pretty damned soon.
ADDENDUM: Ok, this is just getting creepy now.
