I was Krogering yesterday whilst wearing my Warhammer 40,000 Adeptus Mechanicus t-shirt, and as I was checking out, the cashier, who was an older (and I say that as an I am 59 going on 60, I'll take care of you guy) woman said, "I like your shirt." At first I thought I was only imagining that I was wearing my Adeptus Mechanicus shirt, so I checked on that.
It was WH40K:AM, all right. So I said, "Really? What do you like about it?" Which is pretty axisboldaslove for me, as I usually shy away from anything beyond the most mundane conversational gambits in such impromptu & generic situations. (Insecurity, not snobbery.) And she said, "The skull reminds me of that Spanish thing." That Spanish thing? Ah. "Oh, The Day of the Dead?" She averred that that was the Spanish thing. Hmm.
Well, okay. I mos def will take a compliment. So I said, "Thanks."
It was my first Warhammer 40,000 Adeptus Mechanics T-Shirt Compliment.
Deus Est Machina, baby.
More news as it happens.
