Grammar Matters

Today we examine the words of Ms. Susan Rice, who proclaimed,

Ms. Rice, Former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, is the latest to fall into the La Brea Tar Pit of the Trump / Russia Connection.

How clever is this Ms. Rice? It's hard to say at this point, but clearly "I leaked nothing to nobody" is the same thing as saying that there is at least the possibility that she leaked something to somebody. A slip of the lip? Perhaps. But ships have been known to sink at that provocation.
