And I heard a story which is apparently known as The Fat Leonard Bribery Case, in which a defense contractor bribed navy officials with gifts, including prostitute-type gifts. All was the usual sordid business until the anchor--a rather prim-faced woman who was decidedly NOT amused by any of this, said that during one of the prostitue-type gift sessions that (and I quote),
“historical memorabilia related to General Douglas MacArthur were used by the participants in sexual acts . . . . ”
I was convinced that I had imagined it, so I Googled the phrase (which stuck in my memory word for word, for some reason) and found the The Washington Post had the same words in the same order for the same story.
Yowza. There's something you don't hear every day.
